On May 30, 2024, at a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, a report was heard from the chairman of the Synodal Commission on the Canonization of Saints Bishop Pankraty of Trinity on the addition of some diocesan councils of saints (journal No. 56).
In a meeting of May 16, 2023 (journal No. 31), the Holy Synod determined:
In connection with the request of Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan, the roll-call list of the cathedral of Kazan saints was supplemented with the names of: 1) the martyr Alexander Miropolsky, who performed his pastoral ministry in the territory of the Kazan diocese; 2) the martyr Grigory Serbarinov, who died a martyr's death and was consecrated to the Holy Synod; and buried on the territory of the Kazan diocese; 3) the holy princes Theodore and his sons David and Constantine, Yaroslavl wonderworkers, — the first Orthodox rulers of the Bolgar and Kazan lands.
In connection with the request of Metropolitan Cornelius of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogorsk, the roll-call list of the saints of the Arkhangelsk Metropolis was supplemented with the name of the martyr Peter Favoritov, who died a martyr's death and was buried in the territory of the Arkhangelsk Metropolis.
In connection with the request of Metropolitan Isidore of Smolensk and Dorogobuzh, the roll-call list of the cathedral of the Smolensk saints was supplemented with the name of St. Simeon, Metropolitan of Smolensk.
