On November 29, 2024, an international round table «The Role of Religious Leaders in Achieving Sustainable Development of the World» organized by the N. Nazarbayev Center for the Development of Interfaith and Intercivilizational Dialogue together with the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism was held in an online format.
The event was opened by Anuar Khatiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Advisor to the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism.
The event was opened by Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Anuar Khatiev and Advisor of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism of the Republic of Azerbaijan Professor Aiten Gahraman.
The event was also addressed by Firdaus Halimov, Deputy Director of the Center for Islamic Civilization under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Yelnar Berikbayev, Head of the Strategic Analysis Department of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tomasz Paeta, Archbishop-Metropolitan of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Mary in Astana, Sergey Melnik, Senior Researcher at the Center for Interreligious Dialogue of the Bulgarian Islamic Academy, Sergey Melnik, Head of the Religious Expertise Department of the Spiritual Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Aigerim Temirbaeva, Professor of the Department of Religious Studies at «Nur-Mubarak» University, and other participants.

Mentioning the challenges and threats facing the world community today, the speaker noted that the joint voice of religious leaders, their preaching of spiritual and moral values to broad segments of society are factors in overcoming the existing harmful phenomena in the world.
