On May 20, 2024, a general meeting of hegumens and abbesses of monasteries of the Chisinau-Moldavian Metropolitan Church
Orthodox Church of Moldova was held at the diocesan office of the Orthodox Church of Moldova in Chisinau.
The meeting was opened by the chairman of the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism of the Orthodox Church of Moldova.
Opening the meeting, the chairman of the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism of the Orthodox Church of Moldova Bishop Siluan of Orhei made a welcoming speech to the participants. The meeting was attended by the chairman of the Synodal Liturgical Department of the Orthodox Church of Moldova Bishop Filaret of Capriani, chairman of the Synodal Department for Relations with Institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of the Republic of Moldova Bishop Nicolai of Ceadir-Lunga, hegumens and abbesses of monasteries of the Orthodox Church of Moldova participated in the meeting.
In the first part of the meeting held, reports and studies on the current situation of monasticism in the country were read out. Four reports were presented, each of which was followed by discussions and opinions of all participants of the meeting. The reports were delivered by:
- R Superior of the Suruchensky St. George Nunnery Abbess Epistemia (Goncharenko) — — «Monk — fulfiller of the main goal of human life, the achievement of holiness»;
- Vicar of the Novo-Nyametsky Kitskan Ascension Monastery Archimandrite Paisii (Chekan) — — «Teachings from the life of the Venerable Elder Paisii Velichkovsky»;
- Nun Iustina, nun of the Khadzhimus Marfo-Mariinsky Nunnery — «Monasticism between the holy tradition and the era of modernism»;
- Rector of the Choresti Prince Vladimir Monastery, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Religious and Spiritual Education of the Orthodox Church of Moldova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Chisinau Theological Academy Archimandrite Nectarius (German) — «Starets Sofiane Bogiu — Venerable Father, filled with fatherly kindness and gentleness» .
In the second part of the meeting, Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova took part. In his address to the audience, the Metropolitan emphasized that the main goal for the Church and monasticism is to achieve the heavenly kingdom. His Eminence expressed his sincere joy at the growth and development of monastic monasteries in Moldova. Also, His Eminence noted the hard work that has been going on for more than three decades, which has led to the restoration and establishment of new monasteries and sketes, training of new clergy and increasing the number of their inhabitants.

Metropolitan Vladimir noted the unity of the Orthodox Church in Moldova and emphasized that it makes no distinction between ethnic groups, and prayers are offered in different languages, including Romanian, Church Slavonic, Gagauz and Bulgarian.

On the occasion of the upcoming celebration of the memory of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the 50th anniversary of Metropolitan Vladimir's priestly ministry, each monastery and skete received from the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Moldova an icon with the image of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and a book with 40 selected akathistos to the Mother of God.
