On June 2, 2024, with the participation of the Deputy Administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate Archbishop Savva of Zelenograd and the Vicar of the Vvedensky Stavropigial Optina Desert Monastery Bishop Joseph of Mozhaisk held the first meeting of the «Optina Meeting» — a spiritual-intellectual and scientific-educational association, created with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

The main goals of the «Optina Meeting» are:
- thinking and actualization of the importance of the Russian Orthodox Church in the history of Russia, its present and future, as well as the whole Orthodox world
- study and actualization of the role of Orthodoxy and the Russian Orthodox Church in the cultural and spiritual and moral spheres of Russian society;
- study of the value foundations of Russian civilization as a community of peoples united by the Russian Orthodox people to solve joint historical problems;
- study and actualization of the civilization- and state-forming role of the Russian people in the establishment of Russian civilization;
- study of the historical and state-forming role of the Russian people in the Russian civilization;
- research of historically formed models of religious and cultural interaction between the peoples of the Russian civilization;
- Lighting and comprehension of the main problems of the Russian civilization, etc.
At the first meeting the chairman of the meeting — Bishop Joseph and the organizational secretary of the meeting — Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor S.V. Perevezentsev were elected.
