On November 18, 2024, President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic met at his official residence in Belgrade with the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, visiting the confines of the Serbian Orthodox Church with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
Metropolitan Anthony conveyed greetings to the Serbian Head of State on behalf of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, noting that the occasion for the visit of the delegation of the Moscow Patriarchate was the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Svyato-Trinity Church — a suburb of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade.

In the course of the conversation, President Vucic emphasized the significance of this anniversary, which was celebrated the day before with the participation of Holy Patriarch Porphyrios of Serbia, hierarchs and clergy of the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches. In the opinion of the head of state, the celebration symbolized the centuries-long closeness of the two peoples and the two Churches, as well as demonstrated once again the commonality of the two churches. commitment to the preservation of spiritual values and cultural heritage.
