The program of events on June 14 was opened by the conference «Image of the future of Russia and the world through the prism of sobor, communal and collectivist traditions of the Cossacks», which was headed by Metropolitan Kirill. The conference was organized by the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks, the Transfiguration Club (Moscow) and the Russian Nobility Assembly.
The conference was attended by: the leader of the Russian Noble Assembly, President of the Association «Lermontov's Heritage» Doctor of Cultural Studies M.Yu. Korolev-Pereleshin; Chairman of the Department for Cooperation with the Cossacks of the St. Petersburg Diocese, chief military priest of the clergy, feeding the military of the Armed Forces of Russia and Archpriest Demetrius Vasilenkov; Honored Artist of the Russian Federation I.N. Shimbarevich (G.A. Tovstonogov BDT); member of the Federal Political Council of the Cossack Party of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation A.Yu. D.I. Mendeleev, Lermontov Caspian Eurasian University, Moscow Club, A.N. Nazarevsky School of Common Sense, the Open Commonwealth of Suvorovtsy, Nakhimovtsy and Cadets of Russia, representatives of the All-Russian Cossack Society and members of the St. Petersburg Noble Assembly.
Special attention at the conference was paid to the issues of service to the Fatherland, continuity of military traditions, feats of heroes of the Army and other issues of spiritual and moral education.
At the same day, a meeting was held with the commander of the North-Western District of the Russian Federal Guard, Hero of Russia Lieutenant General Sergei Burakov. The meeting discussed the coordination of work and structural interaction between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Federal Guard Service. The event was held within the framework of the Agreement on cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Federal Service of National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation.
In the course of his visit to the headquarters of the district, Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk got acquainted with the history of the North-Western District of the Russian National Guard and performed a prayer service in the military church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, where the names of those who died in the performance of military and official duty of servicemen and employees of units and military units of the district are immortalized. In conclusion, Metropolitan Kirill handed Lieutenant General Sergei Burakov an icon of St. Prince Vladimir.
On June 16, Metropolitan Kirill celebrated a liturgy at the tomb of Generalissimo Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov in the Annunciation Church of Alexandro Nevsky Lavra St. Petersburg. The service was prayed for by the brethren of the holy monastery, representatives of the clergy of the Stavropol Diocese, participants of the conference &lquo;Image of the future of Russia and the world through the prism of sobor, community and collectivist traditions of the Cossacks», members of the Transfiguration Club, military personnel, Cossacks, young soldiers and parishioners of the monastery.
On that day, the head of Stavropol Metropolitan Church and conference participants visited the St. John's Stavropegial Nunnery on Karpovka and the chapel of Blessed Xenia at the Smolensk Cemetery, where they could pray at the relics of Righteous John of Kronstadt and Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg.
