On May 13, 2024. Kosovo authorities denied entry into the territory of Kosovo and Metohija to Serbian Patriarch Porfirios and seven other bishops traveling to the Patriarchate of Pejë/Peć to attend the inauguration of the Council of Bishops.

Patriarch Porphyrius and the bishops were returned from the administrative move of Merdare back to central Serbia.

Because of this, the Council of Bishops will not begin its work in the Peć Patriarchate, as planned, but in Belgrade after the Divine Liturgy.
