On November 5, 2024, the first meeting of the Council on implementation of state policy in the sphere of support for the Russian language and languages of the peoples of Russia was held. The meeting, held in videoconference mode, was chaired by Russian President V.V. Putin. Putin.
The head of state suggested to create unified textbooks on the Russian language and languages of the republics of the Russian Federation, to organize centers for popularization of the Russian language on the basis of libraries of new regions and to implement a number of other ideas to support the Russian language.

The Council for the implementation of state policy in the sphere of support for the Russian language and languages of the peoples of Russia was established on August 22, 2024 as an advisory and coordinating body under the head of state. The purpose of the Council — preservation, development, support of the Russian language and languages of the peoples of Russia, promotion and strengthening of the position of the Russian language in the world, ensuring the rights of citizens of the Russian Federation to use Russian as the state language of the country and languages of the peoples of our country.
