Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), secretary of the Thai diocese, visited in Bangkok the Institute of Child Health, working under the patronage of Queen Mother Sirikit, the telegram channel of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia reported on January 29.
With the blessing of the Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia, Metropolitan Sergius of Singapore and Southeast Asia, the priest handed over folding beds, blankets and pillows to the hospital.
Fr. Oleg talked to the children being treated at the hospital. Parents of 50 little patients were given envelopes with material aid from Orthodox parishes. The total amount of donations amounted to 100 thousand baht, informs the website of the Thai Diocese.
The parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Kingdom of Thailand conduct a wide range of charitable activities: clergy and parishioners visit prisoners and refugees, provide food aid to the needy, including in 2020 donated a ton of rice to flood victims.
