His Eminence, Bishop of Vranjski Mr. Pachomie was received on January 26, 2024 at the Monastery of St. Panteleimon in Lepčinac together with a sisterhood led by the abbot of the monastery, Nun Jelena Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia. President Vučić was accompanied by Mr. Ivica Kojić, Head of the Presidential Cabinet, and Mr.. Dragan Stevanović, State Secretary of the Government of the Republic of Serbia. The Bishop of Vranjski, Mr.. Pahomije thanked President Vučić for his previous assistance to the Vranje Diocese in the restoration and preservation of holy places, especially the Monastery of St. Prohora of Pcinja, as well as for his decision to visit the Monastery of St. Panteleimon, a very important shrine that was the center of preserving in the late 19th and early 20th centuries the religious and national identity of the Serbian people of the Pcinja region. President Vučić thanked for the warm welcome, emphasizing the exceptional importance of holy places, such as the St. Panteleimon Monastery, for the preservation of faith and traditions for future generations.
