In his welcoming remarks, Chairman of the Teaching Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church Protopriest Maxim Kozlov said that the opened September 1, 2024 portal of the project «Remembrance of the Church» has already presented 100 memoirs about the life of the Church and believers in the Soviet era. In December this year the portal will be enriched with another 50 new materials.

The unique reminiscences of Protopresbyter Vladimir Divakov have been added to the already published materials, including an account of a meeting between Patriarch Alexy I and Metropolitan Nicholas (Yarushevich) and Nikita Khrushchev.

The portal will be updated with new materials.

It was also noted that the project has a long-term character. The collection of memories about the life of the Church in the Soviet era was started by students of Russian theological schools (academies and seminaries). There are plans to expand it in the future of the range of participants: first, to involve in the project training centers for church professionals, and in the future — diocesan and parish youth clubs and movements, as well as a wide range of all parishioners who wish to participate in the collection of memories of their relatives and friends.

Priest Evgeny Shishkin, head of the Department of Church History of Stavropol Theological Seminary, shared the experience of the seminary's research work in the field of collecting and studying «oral history».
