Yampolskaya, Advisor to the President of Russia, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Russian World Foundation. «Today in this hall — famous politicians and public figures, teachers of Russian language and literature, scientists, journalists, diplomats, representatives of religious, volunteer, youth organizations, real, faithful friends of Russia from different countries, — the message says. — The main theme of this Assembly emphasizes our sincere desire to preserve those inviolable spiritual and moral values and traditions that unite us and help us achieve our goals.
Deputy Minister of Culture A.V. Malyshev read out a welcome message from the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation M.V. Mishustin, who expressed his conviction that the forum will contribute to further preservation of the Russian language, strengthening of ties between the Russian language and the international community. between compatriots who maintain an unbreakable bond with Russia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also addressed the participants of the Assembly. Highly appreciating the contribution of the organizers and participants of the Assembly «to the promotion of the richest cultural and historical heritage of our Motherland in the development of international humanitarian cooperation», the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed: «Love for one's country, respect for centuries-old customs, honoring the older generation, educating the youth in the spirit of continuity and other values are shared by representatives of all peoples and confessions of Russia. There is no doubt about it. All normal people realize that deviation from the basic norms of morality, permissiveness, "tolerance" brought to absurdity are dangerous for the moral health of society. Let us preserve our traditional values, protect the cultural and historical heritage of the multinational people of the Russian Federation.
With the blessing of the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, the opening of the forum was attended by the secretary of the Russian Orthodox Church's Department of External Church Relations. Archpriest Sergiy Zvonarev and Hieromonk Kirill (Peregudin) of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The Assembly will include a panel discussion «Spiritual and Moral Space of the Russian World: Traditions, Challenges, Prospects» as well as round tables on the problems of the Russian language and culture.
The work of the Assembly will last until November 4.
