On September 21, 2024, a festive reception dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, Mufti Ravil Gainutdin, and the 40th anniversary of his religious service was held in Moscow. The 30th anniversary of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Islamic Institute was also celebrated.
The guests of the celebration were leaders and representatives of Christian and Islamic communities from Russia and foreign countries, state and public figures, representatives of the academic community.
With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk took part in the event. The archpastor was accompanied by Priest Ilia Kashitsyn, Secretary for Interreligious Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, and Priest Nikolai Vasin, Secretary of the Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Metropolitan Anthony warmly congratulated Mufti Ravil Gainutdin on the remarkable dates and emphasized the importance of preserving good relations between the traditional religions of Russia, which today together confront the challenges of modernity, united by close approaches to the issues of morality and family traditions. The Chairman of the All-Russian Central Committee presented the Mufti with a commemorative certificate. a gift on behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
