On June 26, 2024, Moscow hosted the presentation of the Patriarchal Award to O.V. Matytsin, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, who headed the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation from January 21, 2020 to May 14, 2024.
On the recommendation of the chairman of the Patriarchal Commission for Physical Culture and Sport Metropolitan Mitrofan of Murmansk and Monchegorsk, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia honored O.V. Matytsin with the Order of St. Prince Alexander Nevsky, II degree, in consideration of his contribution to the development of church-state relations and in connection with his 60th birthday.

In presenting the award, Metropolitan Mitrofan noted the high level of cooperation between the Patriarchal Commission and the Russian Ministry of Sport, as well as O.V. Matytsin's personal contribution to the promotion of socially significant projects in the sphere of physical culture and sport, primarily the All-Russian Sports Games of St. Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky.
