His Holiness Patriarch Porphyrios of Serbia arrived 21. June 2024 the dioceses of Düsseldorf and Germany. His Holiness was met at Hamburg International Airport by His Grace Metropolitan Gregory of Germany, His Grace Vicar Bishop John of Hum with the clergy. His Holiness Patriarch Porfiry will stay in the Düsseldorf and German dioceses until 24 years. June 2024, and the visit is limited to the city of Hamburg. The central event of the Patriarch's visit will be the consecration of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel on 23. June 2024, the feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. Church and liturgical life in Hamburg began in 1951. years. The Church Municipality, founded in that city in 1958. it owns a temple (with church hall, offices and outbuildings) purchased from the Free Evangelical Church. A small consecration of the temple was held in 2000. consecration of the iconostasis in 2013. years.
