The Executive Secretary of the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks Priest Timothy Chaikin took part in the XXX Electoral Circle of the Central Cossack Troops «Central Cossack Troops». About 300 delegates gathered at the Central House of the Russian Army in Moscow.
Opening the event, Alexei Kirichenko, executive secretary of the Presidential Council for Cossacks, read out a welcome telegram from Dmitry Mironov, chairman of the Presidential Council for Cossacks, aide to the President of the Russian Federation. I am convinced that the decisions of the jubilee Grand Troop Circle will give a new impetus to the work of the Central Cossack Troops, will contribute to the effective solution of their tasks» — noted in the message.
Priest Timofei Chaikin read to the participants a greeting from the chairman of the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk. «In the era of global challenges and attempts to erode moral standards, your firm position in defending the Orthodox faith, family values and patriotism is an example for the whole society. You are guardians of the spiritual power that has nourished our country for centuries and helped it to overcome any trials» — the message says.

A greeting from Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin was also announced, noting: «Cossack societies play a significant role in the life of Moscow. You help law enforcement agencies in ensuring public order, hold patriotic, sports and cultural events, contribute to the preservation of historical memory and the development of the charitable movement.
The Circle was also attended by Priest Mark Kravchenko and Cossack clergymen.
In the course of the circle, the Cossacks of the troop re-elected the acting ataman, Cossack General Ivan Mironov. Cossack Colonel Gennady Sidorin became the first deputy (comrade) of the ataman. The composition of the Council of Atamans and the Council of Elders was also approved.
Following the order of the ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society, the first deputy ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society Mikhail Zorin awarded the Cossacks who distinguished themselves in service.
