His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, together with His Highness Prince Ghazi bin Mohammad, the Chief Advisor to His Majesty King Abdullah Atani of Jordan on Religious and Cultural Affairs, inaugurated on Sunday, February 5 / 18, the Greek Orthodox Church of the Three Saints, the three great luminaries of the Tri-solar Godhead, which church is a project of the Orthodox Center in Dibin, in the Diocese of Gerasa, in Jordan.

The opening of the new temple was attended by Her Highness Princess Maryam Ghazi and the Patriarchal Locum Tenens in Amman, His Eminence Archbishop Christopher of Kiriakopolis, who said that the opening of the temple coincides with the celebration in the Kingdom of the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, emphasizing that Jordan is an example of religious coexistence and a haven of security, safety and stability.

Archbishop Christopher continued that the shrine will be a meeting place for young people and will be a venue for conferences and meetings, as well as serving the local community. His Eminence also expressed his gratitude for the generous donation made by Mr. Issa Nasif Odeh to complete the construction of the holy temple.

The Shrine of the Three Saints is the first in Jordan to bear this name, and is located in the Orthodox center, next to the Holy Monastery of the Virgin Mary, the Life-Giving Spring in Dibin, and was named in honor of the three great luminaries of the Tri-solar Godhead, St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory Nazianzin the Theologian and St. John Chrysostom.

The new church also features a floor with a geometric design reflecting traditional Jordanian building arts and Byzantine and Roman architectural styles.

The first Divine Liturgy will be celebrated next Friday and will be attended by officials, parishioners and local worshippers from various provinces of the Kingdom of Jordan.
