On the morning of Monday, January 9 -nd / 22nd, 2024, His Divine Beatitude our Father and Patriarch Theophilus of Jerusalem went to the Most Holy Shrine of the Resurrection with members of the Pilgrimage Commission and other Holy Sepulchral Fathers, Hierarchs, priests, hieromonks and monks.
Here, His Beatitude observed the ongoing repair works by agreement of the three Major Communities and the technical supervision of the Sapientia University of Rome on the floor around the Anointing Stone, entrance and gates of the Shrine of the Resurrection, and also gave the necessary instructions for their better technical execution in order to structurally strengthen the floor of the Shrine in conjunction with maintaining the pilgrimage status-quo.
