On November 4, 2024, celebrations were held on the occasion of the Throne Feast of the Gorno Monastery in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Ein Karem.
The day before, the All-Night Vigil in the Cathedral of All Saints of the Church of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Gorno Monastery was led by the dean of the Sopaso-Preobrazhensky Solovetsky Monastery, Archimandrite Iannuarius (Nedachin), who was accompanied by the staff of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem and pilgrims in the clergy.
The vigil was celebrated on the eve of the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Ein Karem.
On November 4, the feast day, the Divine Liturgy service was led by the Head of the Mission archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), who was accompanied by the Deputy Head of the RSM, Hegumen Nikon (Golovko), the rector of the Russian Orthodox Church's podvorye in Sofia protopriest Vladimir Tyshchuk, Archimandrite Iannuarius (Nedachin), Hieromonk Amvrosy (Ignatov), clergyman of the Mission in honor of the Holy Forefathers in Hebron, Archpriest Nikolai Zhdanov, clergyman of the Mission in honor of Righteous Tavifa in Jaffa, Hieromonk Philotheus (Artyushin), clergy of the Gorno Monastery, Hieromonk Innocent (Bespalov) and Priest Victor Klinshov, Deacon Macarius Petukhov, clergyman of the Mission, as well as pilgrims in holy orders.
The divine service was prayed by the abbess of the Gornensky monastery, Abbess Catherine (Chernysheva) and her sisters, the abbess of the Gethsemane monastery of Mary Magdalene, Abbess Elisaveta (Schmelz) and her sisters, the head sister of the Bethany School for Girls, Nun Maria (Vall), representatives of the Russian diplomatic corps, numerous parishioners, pilgrims and guests of the monastery, reports the website of the Russian Spiritual Mission.
At the end of the Liturgy, Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev) delivered a sermon dedicated to the veneration of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. Then the procession of clergy and sisters with the singing of verses of the feast went to the Kazan church of the monastery, where a prayer service was held. Then the faithful worshipped the venerated Kazan image of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
