On August 14, 2024, on the first day of the Dormition fast and the day of the celebration of the Origin of the Holy Cross, the head of the Russian Theological Mission in Jerusalem archimandrite Vassian (Zmeev) took part in the night Divine Liturgy on Golgotha in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The service was led by Archimandrite Amfilohiy, clergyman of the Church of the Equal Apostles Constantine and Helen at the Jerusalem Patriarchate. He was accompanied by Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), head of the Russian Theological Mission in Jerusalem, and the clergy of the Mission, Hieromonk Peter (Borodulin) and Deacon Makary Petukhov.
The service was prayed by Archbishop Isidore of Hierapolis (Jerusalem Patriarchate), the clergy of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood, clergy of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, pilgrims from Russia, as well as worshipers from local Christian communities.
The chants of the Liturgy were sung by the choir of the Holy Grove Brotherhood. The divine service was celebrated in Greek and Church Slavonic languages.
In the Mission, the Divine Liturgy and the rite of consecration of honey in the Trinity Cathedral on this day were led by the clergyman of the Russian Spiritual Mission, the clergyman of the suburbs in honor of St. John the Baptist at the site of the Baptism of the Lord (Jordan), Hieromonk Matthew (Kozlov).
