On May 21, 2024, the feast day of the Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian, Priest Georgy Sergeyev, who is responsible for the care of Russian-speaking believers in the Republic of Turkey, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the church at the burial place of the holy apostle in the Turkish town of Selcuk near Ephesus.

At the end of the Liturgy, Father George delivered a sermon. The priest also thanked the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey for permission to perform the service, and the Russian Society of Culture named after Solzhenitsyn and its chairman A. Ponomarev for help in organizing the pilgrimage of believers.
