On May 18 of this year, the annual conference of the clergy of the Przemyśl-Gorlice Diocese was held in Komańcz under the leadership of His Excellency Archbishop Paisiusz.
During the service in the parish church of the Protection of the Virgin Mary, Archbishop Paisiusz, on behalf of St.
Archbishop Paisiusz, the Archbishop of the Diocese of Przemyśl-Gorlicka, and the Archdiocese of Piszemysl-Gorlicka. The Council of Bishops of the Polish Catholic Church awarded the clergy of our diocese with church awards presented on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of autocephaly and the Feast of the Pascha of Christ: mitered priests Basil Zabrocki from Kalnikowo and Wiacheslaw Janel from Kłokowice - the right to wear the second cross with decorations; priest Fr. Jerzy Mokrauz from Przemysl - the right to wear the mitre.
The right to wear the second cross with decorations was awarded to priest Fr. Jerzy Mokrauz from Przemysl.
During the conference, reports were heard on the life of the diocese and individual benefices, on catechetical life, on the activities of the Diocesan Brotherhood of Orthodox Youth, the Diocesan Center of Orthodox Culture "Elpis" in Gorlice, the Diocesan Center of Mercy. "Eleos" in Gladyszów and the diocesan coordinator of aid to Ukraine - including the activities of the Diocesan Children's Home.
A program for the diocesan celebration of the 100th anniversary of the autocephaly of our Church was adopted. The issue of celebrating the 110th anniversary of the martyrdom of St.. Maxim and Golgotha Talerhof. Issues concerning the life of the diocese were discussed, in particular, the reconstruction of historic churches, construction of Orthodox churches in Gladyszów and St. Gora Javor.
The charitable action was summarized: the diocesan Lenten work of mercy and material aid was given to the needy faithful of the diocese.
The schedule of diocesan celebrations was adopted and the program of pilgrimage to St. John Paul II was discussed. Mount Javor (Sts. Apprs. Peter and Paul) and Gorlice (St. Maxim).
At the conclusion, a lecture was given by Father Archimandrite Theophilus of Tarnów: "Holy Land - the source of Holy Orthodoxy". After the discussion, Archbishop Paisiusz thanked the clergy for their selfless service to the Orthodox Church, wishing them all spiritual and physical strength to continue to carry on their ministry with dignity.
