Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received the leadership and medical staff of Izmirlian Medical Center, headed by the Executive Director, Dr. Armen Charchyan, Professor, M.D., and the spiritual leader of the center, Hoggeret T. Hovhannes Abega Torgomian.

The Armenian Bishop stressed that the Church has always emphasized the physical health of a person on the way to its soul-saving mission, as a condition for living the God-given life to the fullest and appreciating it more through good deeds. In this regard, His Holiness, speaking about the activities of the "Izmirlian" Medical Center, noted that the Center, being an institution operating under the auspices of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, is called upon to render its unconditional service to the children of the nation with greater responsibility and dedication.
