Catholicos of All Armenians received newly ordained priests

On February 5, H.H. Karekin, the Second Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received eleven priests ordained the previous day at the Mother Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator in Yerevan under the leadership of the Illuminator of the Mother See of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Eminence Fr. Bishop Musegh Babayan and the head of the Armenian Diocese of Iraq His Eminence Fr. Bishop Gulgulyan of Osh.

The ordaining Bishop Oshakan, after seeking the blessings of His Holiness, expressed his gratitude for the honor of priestly ordination.


On behalf of the newly ordained ministers, Rev. Fr. Priest Komitas Ghevondian assured that they will make every effort to bring their dedicated service to the Armenian Church.


Then the Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his paternal blessing and best wishes to the newly ordained clergy, congratulating them on their priestly ordination.


His Holiness urged the newly ordained clergy to devote themselves to their mission with a high awareness of their spiritual calling and love, further enhancing the good reputation and authority of the Armenian Church.


Emphasizing that Armenia and the Armenian people are living in a difficult period, the Armenian Patriarch charged the newly ordained ministers to make their spiritual service fruitful spiritual-educational activities, to affirm and strengthen the love of Armenians for the Armenian Church and Motherland in accordance with the Gospel and the messages of the Holy Fathers.

His Eminence expressed confidence that the priestly fathers will be able to realize the dreams and visions of the children of the Armenian nation through their strong faith, selfless and unconditional service.


At the meeting His Holiness expressed his gratitude to the ordaining Holy Father, as well as to the spiritual-educational institutions of the Mother See and liturgical institutions for the efforts invested in the preparation and ordination of the priests.


At the end, His Holiness blessed the priest fathers with the "Patronage" prayer and performed the "Mashtots" rite.
