On February 16, H.H. Karekin, the Second Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received in Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin the members of the "Armenian Library Association" (APA) accompanied by the Publishing Department of the Mother See and the director of the "Vache and Tamar Manukyan" "Matenadaran Arjanapativ T. Ararat Priest Poghosyan.
Introducing the guests to His Holiness, Father emphasized that the latter arrived in the Mother See on the eve of the Book Dedication Day to receive the blessing of the Patriarch of All Armenians. Fr. Ararat also touched upon the existing cooperation between the Publishing Department of the Mother See and the ASA.
The Armenian Patriarch, conveying his paternal blessing and good wishes to the members of the AGA, wished them a successful mission to strengthen the love of reading among Armenians and disseminate the literary heritage. His Holiness highly appreciated the activities of the libraries for the benefit of education and spiritual formation of the Armenians, reaffirming also that the book is the best companion in human life. On that occasion the Armenian Patriarch noted that the Church has always been at the origin of the creation of literature, education and upbringing of generations.
In her turn, the President of the National Children's Library after Hnko Apor and Director of the National Children's Library after Hnko Apor Ruzan Tonoyan thanked the following people She thanked the Armenian Patriarch for the reception and passed on information about the collection, activities and upcoming plans of the National Children's Library.
During the talk the problems faced by the libraries were discussed, as well as possible ways of overcoming them, as well as expansion of cooperation with the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
