Between March 14 and March 18, 2024, a group of pilgrims led by Bishop Theophilos Nikiforos Botosaneanulos (Assistant Bishop of the Holy Archdiocese of Iasi) visited the places where the Holy Apostles Paul and Barnabas brought the Gospel message to the great island of Cyprus.
The pilgrimage organized by the "Agia Paraskevi" Pilgrimage Tours Department of the Holy Archdiocese of Iasi led them to the Holy Royal and Stavropigian Monasteries of Agios Neophytos of Anglista and Panagia of Kykkos, where they worshipped the relics of Agios Neophytos. and the icon of the Virgin Mary, which according to tradition was painted by the Apostle and Evangelist Luke.
Bishop Nikephoros had the blessing to celebrate the Divine Liturgy together with the clergy of the pilgrim group at the Holy Church of St. Lazarus on the fourth day in Larnaca, where they worshipped the tomb of Christ's friend.
The group also had the blessing and opportunity to meet with the Primate of the Church of Cyprus, His Beatitude Archbishop of Nea Justiniana and all Cyprus, Mr.. George, as well as His Eminence Metropolitan of Limassol Mr. Athanasios.
