On January 12, 2024, Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk headed the meeting "Pastoral care of patients in military hospitals" in the Beta Hall of the DonExpoCenter Congress and Exhibition Center in Rostov-on-Don.
Bishop Artemiy of Taganrog and Archpriest Sergiy Klyaev, responsible for the organization of medical, social assistance and pastoral care of military hospitals in Russia and in the zone of special military operation from the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Ministry, took part in the meeting.
The meeting was moderated by Priest Evgeny Osyak, Head of the Rostov Diocese Department for Church Charity and Social Ministry, Secretary of the Board of Social Ministry of the Don Metropolis.
Priests who took part in the training and methodological training camp "Organization of Work with Faithful Servicemen in the Performance of Combat Tasks in the Zone of Combat Defense" were invited to the event, as well as clerics who feed medical institutions, military units and those responsible for prison ministry in the dioceses of the Metropolis of Don.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, the head of the Don Metropolis emphasized: "Our aspiration to meet Christ is based on serving our neighbor, following the commandments of the Lord.
