On November 1, 2024, the interim administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the United States, Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, met with Archpriest Alexander Rentel, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America, at the Representative Office of the Moscow Patriarchate in New York.

Father Alexander greeted the hierarch on behalf of Metropolitan Tikhon, His Beatitude of All America and Canada, and conveyed God's good wishes for his labors.
Bishop Matthew, for his part, asked him to convey to His Beatitude his gratitude for his attention and expressed his hope for a personal meeting with the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America in the near future.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including joint services and events in 2025 to mark the 100th anniversary of the repose of Saint Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, as well as the 55th anniversary of the granting of the Tomos of Autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in America.
The meeting was also attended by Hegumen Nicodemus (Balyasnikov), acting chancellor of the Patriarchal parishes in the United States, and the head of the chancery of the parishes. Priest Mark Rashkov.
