On Saturday evening, July 21 / August 3, 2024, His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem blessed the closing ceremony of the 43rd "We Stay Here" camp of the Arabic-speaking Orthodox Scouts of Jerusalem in Beit Jamal, near Jerusalem, in the presence of Mr. Dimitrios Angelosopoulos, Consul General of Greece in Jerusalem.
The program of the event included the ritual of the end of the Scout camping period, gathering around the campfire, gymnastic performances, dances, speeches and the traditional awarding of performance medals to the Scout members who distinguished themselves in scouting activities.
His Beatitude praised them for their active participation in the Orthodox Church and for cultivating Christian and humanistic values.
Mr. Suleiman Tarazi, President of the Scouts, thanked His Beatitude for the practical support of their activities.
