Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord

January 01, 2024 PRESIDENT. On January 1, 2024, the Feast of the Circumcision of the Lord and the Feast of the Commemoration of St. Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea of Cappadocia, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great in the cathedral church of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine - St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral. The Primate of the autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church was served by Archbishop Agapit of Vyshgorod, Bishop Efrem of Vasylkivsk, the vicar of the Zlatoverkha Monastery, the monastery's venerable brethren and the invited clergy. After the reading of the Gospel, His Beatitude delivered the first sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord at a time when the Motherland is in danger. During the service there were prayer requests for the soldiers who defend Ukraine, for the authorities and our people, and for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians who died during the war.
