On November 12, 2020, a prayer service for the return of Syrian refugees was held in the house church in honor of the Holy Martyr Ignatius the God-bearer at the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Damascus. The divine service was performed by the representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarchal throne of Antioch, Abbot Arseny (Sokolov).
First Deputy Minister of Education of Russia D.Ye. Glushko and other representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation are delegates of the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees taking place in Damascus, as well as a few parishioners of the church - children of the Russian Orthodox Church, living in the Syrian capital.
After the prayer service in the reception hall of the Representation, hegumen Arseny had a conversation with D.Ye. Glushko and accompanying persons. The conversation was also attended by the President of the Association of Arab Communities in Russia, Dr. Hassan Nasrallah, representatives of the Syrian ministry of waqfs and parishioners of the house church at the Mission.
Father Arseny told the guests about the history of the Mission and presented to each of the guests a book of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia 'Freedom and Responsibility' in Arabic.
