The 'Post of Purity' campaign is being held in Moscow churches

В московских храмах проходит акция «Пост Чистоты»
Fasting is, first of all, prayer and good deeds, and only then - abstinence in food. In order to remind believers of this, young parishioners of the churches of the Moscow City Diocese are implementing the “Purity Fast” initiative in the final days of Peter Lent, during which church courtyards and adjacent territories - streets, squares and parks - are put in order. In the context of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all work is carried out in strict compliance with current sanitary standards.

After the Divine Liturgy, the parishioners of the Church of the Saints Simeon the God-Receiver and Anna the Prophetess in Cheryomushki, after the Divine Liturgy, took up the garden tools and removed the temple paths, ennobled the flower beds and swept the alleys of the park adjacent to the courtyard. There were more volunteers willing to participate in this work than the tools available at the parish. “The young parishioners were very happy to take part in this action and again help their beloved church,” the parish press service told the reporter of the newspaper “Moi Cheryomushki”.
They decided to help the cause of salvation and their hometown with their own hands in the Moscow region of Konkovo. Young men and women from the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Softening Evil Hearts” cleaned up the nearby playground, landscaped flower beds and planted plants around the parish courtyard.
The action 'Post of Purity' will last until the last day of Peter's fast - July 11. Dozens of churches in the Russian capital will take part in it, coordinating joint activities within the framework of the action through the Youth Department of the Moscow City Diocese.
