Forgotten pre-revolutionary chapel found in Armavir

В Армавире нашли забытую дореволюционную часовню
In the city of Armavir, Krasnodar Territory, an Orthodox chapel of pre-revolutionary construction was found. She was found during the dismantling of an old asphalt plant. The chapel was built into the company's administrative building. The forgotten house of prayer was discovered by members of the Starostanichnoye Khutor Cossack Society public organization. Until now, it was believed that none of the city buildings for religious purposes, built before the revolution, survived in the city.

With the discovery of the chapel, the dismantling of the administrative building of the factory was suspended; historians and local historians went to the place of the find. Thanks to archival materials, it was quickly found out that the asphalt plant built in the Soviet era was located on the territory of a former cemetery. The chapel was located at the entrance to it and, apparently, served as a funeral service for the dead. Due to the fact that the building was 'inscribed' into the building of the plant management, it is quite well preserved - especially its two outer walls, decorated with pre-revolutionary tiles, at the top of one of which a cross made of bricks has survived.
The chapel was built on donations, so the bricks are branded from different factories
The issue of saving the unique pre-revolutionary building has already been discussed at the town planning commission under the Armavir administration. The situation is complicated by the fact that the territory of the former asphalt plant has already been bought out by one of the city developers for the construction of an apartment building on it. Currently, negotiations are underway with him on the transfer of the site with the historic chapel for free public use. If agreement on this issue is not reached, the option of transferring the entire building, along with the foundation, to another place is possible.
