According to the 'Thomas' magazine, on the day of commemoration of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos 'Unexpected Joy' in the capital of Uzbekistan, the first temple in Central Asia was consecrated in honor of the Royal Passion-bearers. The rite of the great consecration of the church, located on the territory of the spiritual and administrative center of the Tashkent and Uzbekistan diocese, was performed by the head of the Central Asian metropolitan district, Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan. At the end of the consecration, the Divine Liturgy was performed in the new church. The construction of the three-level temple in Tashkent took several years, and its consecration was timed to coincide with a memorable date - the centenary of the martyrdom of the last Russian emperor and his family. - This is an important event for our diocese. God grant that we always flow to this source of God's grace. We are glad that another lamp on the throne has been lit here, which will illuminate and enlighten, strengthen with the grace of God all those who will pray in this church in order to nourish their souls to bear their cross of life, leading to eternal blessings in the Kingdom of Christ, - said after the service held in the newly consecrated church, His Eminence Metropolitan Vincent. In the Temple of the Royal Passion-Bearers in Tashkent, the painting of the walls and ceiling has already been completed - however, part of the finishing work has yet to be completed by the builders.
