Russian chefs and culinary specialists may have a heavenly patron
28 November 2018
The famous Russian chef and culinary blogger Maxim Syrnikov addressed an open letter to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill with a request to 'appoint' the heavenly patron of culinary specialists, restaurateurs and other related professions. This is reported by the news portal YUGA.
As a possible candidate for this place, Maxim Syrnikov proposed the Hieromartyr Ioann Plekhanov, who in earthly life was a professional chef, who cooked first in restaurants in Moscow, and later - for Patriarch Tikhon. In his message posted on his personal facebook page, the chef noted that representatives of many professions have heavenly protectors, but his colleagues still do not. While in Russia, more and more interest is aroused by the preservation of the traditions of Russian cuisine and hospitality, writes Maxim Syrnikov.
