The village of Krapivna, which is fifty kilometers from Tula, has a rich history. It managed to visit both the city and the village, it was destroyed during the raid of the Crimean Khan Devlet-Girey, it belonged either to the Tula or to the Moscow province, several times by the grace of the Lord God rebuilding in different places - and once the camp of the impostor False Dmitry I was located in Krapivna. the revolution in the village, traditionally, two large fairs were held - on the holidays of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker; nowadays, the All-Russian Nettle Festival is held here annually.

Nikolskaya Church in Krapivna with the chapel of the Martyrs Flora and the Lavra has been known since 1616. Until 1759, it was made of wood. The stone temple was erected in 1759-1764 with funds donated by the Tula merchant Gerasim Stefanovich Sushkin. In May 1764, the temple was consecrated in honor and glory of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Nowadays, remind 'VESTI Tula', St. Nicholas Church in Krapivna is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance.
