Despite the severance of relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Patriarchate of Constantinople, believers from Russia will be able to receive Holy Communion at the Panteleimon Monastery on Mount Athos, because in Moscow this monastery is perceived as Russian. The head of the Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Hilarion, said this in the special edition of the Church and the World program on the Russia-24 channel, RT reports. “This monastery was built by Russian monks with Russian money, there is a Russian and Ukrainian monastic brotherhood, there divine services are performed in the Slavic language,” said His Eminence Vladyka. The children of the Russian Orthodox Church are advised to refrain from accepting the Holy Mysteries of Christ in other Athonite monasteries, Metropolitan Hilarion recalled.
