One of the explosions in Sri Lanka was prevented

Один из взрывов на Шри-Ланке удалось предотвратить
One of the terrorist attacks on Christians in Sri Lanka was prevented: a bomb planted at the country's largest international airport, Bandaranaike, was defused by the military. According to Kommersant, citing the Hindustan Times, a package with a lethal charge was left right on the road, which made it possible to quickly detect it and neutralize the lethal contents. We will remind, six explosions thundered yesterday in Sri Lanka in churches and hotels at about a quarter past nine in the morning local time. At this very time, thousands of Christians were praying in temples, celebrating Easter according to the calendar that the Western Church adheres to. A few hours later, two more explosions sounded, one of them near the zoo in the capital of the country, Colombo, where it is especially crowded on weekends. A total of 290 people were killed in the terrorist attack; about five hundred more were injured - the data on the victims are being clarified all the time. Security measures have been strengthened in the country; a curfew was introduced, access to social networks and instant messengers was blocked. Sri Lankan President Maitripala Sirisena called on the competent services to apply the most stringent measures to those responsible for the attack on civilians and tourists - and also asked everyone, without exception, to refrain from spreading rumors, speculation and any other unreliable information. On suspicion of involvement in terrorist acts, 24 people have already been detained, all of them local residents. Currently, their connections with banned organizations from other countries are being checked, first of all, of the Islamist persuasion.
