We rarely talk about temples under construction, but this is a special case. Firstly, divine services are already being held (and daily) at the Nikolsky parish of the city of Krasnogorsk near Moscow, and secondly, this elegant church, inscribed in the landscape of the new Krasnogorie microdistrict, is often called a collective image of modern Moscow. The parish in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Pavshinskaya floodplain dates back to December 19, 2013, when on the day of the patronal feast the Metropolitan of Kolomna and Krutitsky consecrated a stone for the foundation of the future church here. The laying ceremony was attended by the governor of the Moscow region A. Vorobyov and the head of the Krasnogorsk municipal district B. Rasskazov. The Nikolsky Church in the Pavshinskaya floodplain of the Moskva River is two-story and two-altar. In its upper, main part, there is a throne consecrated in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra of Lycia, in the lower one there is another throne, in the name of the Holy Supreme Apostle Andrew the First-Called. Although the finishing work is still ongoing here, the temple can literally be called one of the most beautiful among the new churches in the capital region of Russia. The author of the project for the Nikolsky Church was the eminent church architect, head of the ARKHRAM architectural and artistic center A. Obolensky. According to his plan, the temple became not only the most beautiful, but also the tallest in the area: together with the cross crowning the main dome, the height of the building reaches 53 meters. The temple is capable of simultaneously accommodating up to one and a half thousand believers - for the Redridge Mountains, where nearly sixty thousand people live, this is very important. The total area of St. Nicholas Church, built of monolithic reinforced concrete, is more than four and a half thousand meters. The two levels of the building, upper and lower, are connected to each other by a staircase. For people with disabilities and elderly parishioners, the installation of special lifts is provided. According to the project, the lower tier of the building will house a baptismal hall, a refectory, a Sunday school and a meeting hall. On the upper, besides the main church, there are choir stalls and service rooms; from here the exit to the bell tower is arranged.
Nikolskiye Cathedral has a traditional appearance for Russian stone architecture - and at the same time, it is a modern building, in which a number of innovative solutions have been implemented. One of these is the ability of the domes of the temple to change color on the days of major church holidays. This is done due to the original backlight system. A special pride of the still young parish is the church belfry. Consecration of the bells of his temple the abbot, Priest Pavel Ostrovsky, performed in 2016. Today, besides him, two more priests serve in the church - Father Pavel Zharinov and Father Roman Kozlovsky. Services are held every day; on Sundays and holidays, two liturgies are celebrated - early and nine o'clock. Note that confession in St. Nicholas Church is held only during the evening service - during the Liturgy, an exception can be made only for sick people and in some other, special cases. Getting to St. Nicholas Church in Pavshinskaya floodplain will be easy even for people from other cities. The main thing is to come to the city, and the ceremonial, incredibly beautiful church on Krasnogorsky Boulevard on the banks of the Moskva River, opposite the pedestrian bridge, is simply impossible not to notice!
