A family from Chelyabinsk, who had kept the sculptural image of the Lord Jesus Christ for a long time, decided to return it to the Ukrainian city of Sarny, where the church in which this relic resided has been restored. Город Сарны, Украина The Catholic church in Sarny (now the Rivne region of Ukraine) was built even when this town was on the territory of Poland. The church - first wooden, later - made of stone - was originally a garrison church and was located on the territory of a military unit. During World War II, the building was badly damaged, and after its end, when this territory became part of the Ukrainian SSR, it was adapted as a warehouse. At the same time, the shrines and liturgical utensils were piled as unnecessary into a distant room. Отстроеный заново костёл в Сарнах The believers managed to disassemble some of the temple shrines to their homes, but many valuables from the old church disappeared, it seemed, without a trace. Recently, the Catholic church in Sarny was restored (in fact, rebuilt anew, starting in the nineties of the last century) - and the parishioners began to painstakingly collect everything that survived from the pre-war house of prayer. What is it was their surprise when a family from Russian Chelyabinsk contacted parish activists by phone and said that one of the relics - a small statue of the Lord - is kept with them. Елена Богдаова и Алексей Фоменко с исторической реликвией The story with the statue received a certain resonance in Russia as well. The correspondent of the newspaper 'Komsomolskaya Pravda - Chelyabinsk' contacted Elena Bogdanova, in whose house the relic is kept - and this is what she told her: “This is a prayer sculpture. She stood in the church for years and absorbed the incense of hundreds of services. If you approach it, touch it, and now you can feel a subtle smell. ' Elena's mother, Olga Bogdanova, rescued a sculpture from a rapidly deteriorating church in 1956. Fate linked the life of a woman with many cities - and everywhere Olga carefully carried the relic with her, hoping that the time would come to return it to its rightful place. Статуя Спасителя побывала во многих городах и теперь вернётся в костёл в Сарнах Olga's family members eventually became feel the beneficial influence of a small statue on your life. They quickly recovered from illness, avoided seemingly inevitable problems and grief, and their financial difficulties were resolved in the most unexpected ways. For Olga herself, who had suffered from a serious oncological disease for many years, the presence of the sculpture of the Son of God in the house helped to go to the Lord God in due time quietly and without torment. However, one day the family began to notice that everything had changed. Material difficulties began - and the wooden statue, for the restoration of which no one wanted to undertake (too complicated process, and the wood is old) - little by little began to crack. Apparently, the time has come to return the shrine to the temple of God - the family decided, after consulting with an Orthodox priest, and then contacted the church in Ukrainian Sarny. As it turned out, a lot of icons, statues and bells from the former church had already been collected there, in the church that had acquired a second life. To say that local Catholics were delighted with the unexpectedly found shrine is to say nothing. The son of Elena Bogdanova, Aleksey Fomenko, expressed a desire to personally transfer the relic from hand to hand to parish activists from the church in the city of Sarny. Given the current difficulties associated with visiting Ukraine for Russian citizens, at present a family from Chelyabinsk is looking for ways to do it in the best way.
