Summer Institute for Catholic Clergy will continue its work in Russia

Летний институт для католического духовенства продолжит свою работу в России
As reported by TASS with reference to the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, on August 24, the fourth summer institute for representatives of the clergy of the Roman Catholic Church will begin its work in the Russian capital. Its goal is to strengthen cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Holy See; the institute operates with the support of the charitable foundations 'Russian World' and Urbi et Orbi. The event, which lasts a little over a week, aims to help representatives of Western Christianity learn more about the Orthodox Christian tradition, as well as about Russia and its culture. This time, the participants will focus on the issues of protecting Christians and preserving traditional Christian values. The delegation of the Roman Catholic Church arriving in our country this year will be headed by the Bishop of Saint-Dieu-de-Vosges (France), President of the Council for Promoting Christian Unity of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of France, Monsignor Didier Berthe. The experience of organizing institutes for Catholic clergy in Russia dates back to 2015, when such an event was held for the first time. In 2018, the program includes acquaintance with the work of the Synodal departments of the Russian Orthodox Church, visits to holy places and sights of Moscow, Sergiev Posad, Veliky Novgorod and St. Petersburg, as well as meetings with famous people in Russia.
