Theophylact Bulgarian. Interpretation of the Gospel of Matthew

Matthew 15:29. Passing from there, Jesus came to the Sea of Galilee and, going up the mountain, sat there. And a great multitude came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the dumb, the crippled, and many others, and cast them at the feet of Jesus; and He healed them;

Matthew 15:30. so that the people marveled, seeing the dumb talking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and glorified the God of Israel.

He lives not in Judea all the time, but in Galilee, because of the great unbelief of the Jews, for the inhabitants of Galilee were more disposed to faith than those. This is their faith: they climb a mountain, although they were lame and blind, and do not get tired, but throw themselves at the feet of Jesus, considering Him superior to man, which is why they achieve healing. So, you also go up to the mountain of commandments, where the Lord sits. Are you blind and unable to see the good by yourself, are you lame and, seeing the good, are not able to come to him, are you dumb, so that you are not able to listen to the other when he exhorts, or to admonish the other yourself, whether you are crippled you, that is, you cannot stretch out your hand for alms, whether you are sick with anything else, - falling at the feet of Jesus and touching the traces of His life, you will be healed.
