On August 26, on the territory of the City Clinical Hospital No. 67 named after L.А. Vorokhobov, the 'Days of St. Luke' will begin. The event, timed to coincide with the sixtieth anniversary of the medical institution and the opening of a perinatal center for women in labor and newborns with cardiovascular pathologies, will last five days. During this time, an alley will be laid on the territory of the hospital in memory of St. Luka Voino-Yasenetsky, a conference and a festival of street cinema will be held, and an exhibition of photographs and drawings made by His Eminence Luka, Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea will be held. In addition, the exhibition will feature an icon of St. Luke with a particle of his relics, donated to City Clinical Hospital No. 67 by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
The cultural and educational project 'Days of St. Luke' was created for everyone who cherishes the memory of the saint. It is represented both in the Russian Federation and in a number of other countries: the Republic of Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine, Germany, France, Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Slovenia and Croatia. The organizers of the project are the Center for Cultural Cooperation named after St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky, the administration of the City Clinical Hospital No. 67 named after L.A. Vorokhobova, All-Holy Parish of the City of Minsk; the project is being implemented with the support of the Patriarchal Council for Culture and the Moscow City Health Department.
Recall Archbishop Luka (Valentin Feliksovich) Voino-Yasenetsky (1877-1961) - an outstanding surgeon, scientist, author of works on anesthesiology and purulent surgery, doctor of medical sciences, professor. He is known to Orthodox believers as a deep spiritual writer and doctor of theology. Archbishop Luke suffered from repression and spent only about eleven years in exile. In 2000, he was posthumously rehabilitated - and numbered by the Russian Orthodox Church among the host of saints.
