On the day of the bright Resurrection of Christ, a giant Easter weighing a thousand kilograms was installed on the square near the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in the Russian capital, RIANMO reports. After 6 pm on Easter Sunday, everyone could taste the culinary masterpiece. Tsar Easter was made by confectioners in the form of a traditional pyramid, the height, width and length of which are one and a half meters. The top of Easter was presented to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill. Let us remind you that Easter, which is often confused with Easter cake, is a festive dish made of cottage cheese, which, according to tradition, is prepared only once a year, on the Resurrection of Christ. Pyramidal Easter is often done with a truncated top and symbolizes the Holy Sepulcher, so it depicts a cross, a spear, sprouted grains, sprouts and flowers - as well as the capital letters XB (Christ is Risen). In addition to selected cottage cheese, butter, cream and sour cream are added to Easter - and the finished dish is decorated with raisins, candied fruits, and nuts. It is believed that the tradition of preparing cottage cheese Easter is typical for the center and north of Russia, but this dish is also known in the south of the country. In 2011, one of the leading manufacturers of dairy products in the Rostov region prepared a five hundred kilogram Easter and presented it to the participants of the festivities gathered in the bright week, which took place in the heart of the Don region - the village of Starocherkasskaya.
