According to The Times, the head of the Church of England, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, will pay a three-day visit to the Russian capital on November 20-23. The visit of the spiritual leader of the Church of England will be reciprocal: we recall that Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia visited Great Britain last fall. It is interesting to note that the primate of the Russian Church then received an audience with the Queen of England - but the leader of the Church of England will never meet with the President of Russia. The British side negotiated the possibility of such a meeting, but they did not bring any result. This is understandable, given that among the issues that Archbishop Justin Welby intends to discuss in Russia, not only the protection of Christians in the Middle East and joint social projects of churches, but also the female priesthood, the right of women to abortion, as well as same-sex 'marriage.' During his visit to the Russian capital, the Archbishop of Canterbury will lead the service at the Moscow Anglican Church and will appoint him as Chaplain of Malcolm Rogers.
