Description & properties
This wooden cross necklace was hand carved by a Jerusalem artisan from olive wood and blessed on the Stone of Anointing at Jerusalem’s Temple of the Holy Sepulcher. The only ornament is an inscription in Latin, informing of its place of origin: “Jerusalem”.
What should the cross necklace look like? — Most experienced preachers will agree that it should be the simplest of all. That is to say — it should only display the person’s devotion to Christianity, without drawing too much attention and avoiding distraction from daily routine. This wooden cross necklace is exactly of this kind. It can be worn on a simple cord, which is included.
The twelve-pointed shape of the cross is due to Christian mysticism as the number 12 recurs over and over throughout the Bible: twelve Apostles, twelve tribes of Israel, twelve Patriarchs –the sons of Jacob and so on.
