Church workers at home were congratulated on the Day of the Myrrh-Bearing Women

It is no secret for parishioners of Orthodox churches that a huge part of the work at the temple is performed by caring female hands. Their work is not striking, their attitude to the comfort and livability of the church and the courtyard, perhaps, is not always noticeable - but they are truly invaluable.

Today, most of the church workers in Russia, in connection with the situation related to the spread of the coronavirus, are at home, in self-isolation. In churches daily prayers for their health are heard, but personal communication with parishioners and clergy, like many other believers, is now sorely lacking. In the city of Karachev, Bryansk region, women who carry out obediences at churches have decided to congratulate them on the Day of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women (which is often called “Orthodox Women's Day”) right at home.

On May 3, Archpriest Vladimir Safronov, Dean of the Karachevsky church district, together with missionary assistant Alexander Bitkov, visited the workers of the district's churches in their apartments and private households. They presented each of the women with flowers, icons of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Most Holy Theotokos and holy saints, as well as gifts for the holiday - and also congratulated them on the holiday and thanked them for their important, everyday work.

As the portal 'Bryansk Today' clarifies, during their visits, the clerics of the Karak Deanery invariably followed all the necessary precautions during the epidemic (social distance, masks, gloves, and so on).
