In the Konigsepp district of the Leningrad region, on the territory of the former estate Novopyatnitskoye, researchers from the Institute for the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) have discovered the foundation of a sixteenth-century temple. The find was reported by the Internet newspaper 'Neva Segodnya'. Apparently, the temple was located on the territory of the Pyatnitsky monastery that operated on this site in the old days.

In addition to the remains of the church, archaeologists also discovered Orthodox pectoral crosses, seventeenth-century Swedish coins, buttons and other household items.
