In the Kuban, Easter services will be held in the courtyards of temples

On the night of April 19, in the Krasnodar Territory, where the regime of strict self-isolation is in effect, Orthodox believers will be able to offer prayers during the Easter service, being in the courtyards - inside the churches, the entrance for parishioners will be limited.

“To hold Easter services in the temple courtyard or in the adjacent territory. It is permissible to install the altar table on the church porch or in another suitable place on the territory, ”says an official letter sent with the blessing of the Metropolitan of Yekaterinodar and Kuban Isidor to the rectors of the parishes of Krasnodar Territory.

In addition, the abbots were advised to hold the traditional procession of the cross on Easter night by the forces of clergy, sextons, altar men and choristers - that is, without parishioners who will be called upon to refrain from participating in the prayer procession. The lay faithful of the Kuban will also fail to receive Communion on Easter; but it will be possible to hand over the notes, consecrate cakes and eggs, as usual, right at the courtyard of the temples on Saturday and Sunday.

Whether such measures will bring salvation from the further spread of coronavirus in the Kuban is difficult to say. According to 'Live Kuban', on the night of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, volunteers are expected to participate in the distribution of masks to those who came to the services, the processing of hands and events to ensure social distancing.
