The restoration of the most famous temple in France, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, continues, the wooden structures of the upper part of which were completely destroyed by the fire of 2019. The historical chronometer, installed at the grandiose prayer house and showing the exact time to many generations of Parisians, was also seriously damaged by fire. Российские часовщики за работой The specialists of the Petrodvorets Watch Factory from the northern capital of Russia undertook to make the worn-out parts of the clock mechanism - in France itself, the technology for the production of parts for such large watches has long been lost. For a Russian enterprise founded by Emperor Peter I, such work, if not something ordinary, is not being done for the first time. By the way, the Raketa watch brand, well-known throughout the post-Soviet space, belongs to this very enterprise with a three-century history. UNESCO offered its assistance in the restoration of Notre Dame. More than 700 million euros have already been raised in donations for the restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral; part of the funds will be allocated by the French government. The country's authorities plan to restore the interior of the temple and actually rebuild its upper part before the Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris in 2024. Given the scale of the work, such a period seems unrealistic to many construction specialists - even though, by the grace of God, the fire did not affect the capital structures of the building. Петродворцовый часовой завод.jpg As the Popular Mechanics portal reminds, the construction of the Parisian Cathedral, dedicated to the Mother of God, began in 1163. It took 182 years to build the main part of the temple; subsequently, the cathedral was repeatedly completed and restored. In the 19th century, a unique monument of medieval architecture was almost demolished - only the worldwide popularity of the novel by Victor Hugo 'Notre Dame Cathedral' prevented it. The temple has survived several revolutions and wars and has become one of the most recognizable symbols of the French capital.
